The proximity of Buon Ritiro to the Apuan Alps favors the possibility of excursions for all tastes. There are easier ones, from tourist ones to those for expert hikers. Naturally, the advice we give is always to rely on someone expert, such as the AMM guides, and to use the equipment suitable for the type of excursion you want to undertake.

Pania della Croc​​e (EE- EEA)

One of the most popular stops in the Apuan Alps is the summit of Pania della Croce. So-called "Queen of the Apuan Alps", with its 1859 meters above sea level it is one of the most visited destinations in the Apuan Alps. Difference in altitude of approximately 680 meters from the CAI M. Del Freo refuge in Mosceta, following path no. 126. Type of excursion: EE (EXPERTS EXCURSIONISTS). Always refer to the guides before embarking on the excursion.

Puntato ring (T)

Beautiful excursion suitable for everyone, as it is a circular tour without too many ups and downs and without peaks, beautiful views and an often cool path in the woods. ​From Fociomboli take the CAI path 11 and, after passing the peat bog, you reach the ancient settlement of Alpe di Puntato, where the oratory of the SS. Trinità on the Alpe di Puntato (Terrinca). From here you take the CAI path 128 which leads to the Mosceta refuge, passing in front of the "Tana dell'Omo Selva" cave (which can only be visited by expert speleologists), and then take the CAI path 129 and return to Fociomboli. Medium difficulty, travel time approximately 6 hours. Always refer to the guides before embarking on the excursion

The most famous natural cavities of the Apuan Alps, located in the Fatonero and Anguillaia ditches. The first ones in the Anguillaia ditch can be easily visited, reachable via a quarry road, whose entrance is located on the provincial road 10 of Arni about 1 km from the Tre Fiumi area, while to visit the others you need to be equipped and trained. An excursion to be absolutely avoided in case of uncertain weather, it is however good practice to refer to the guides before embarking on the excursion. (ONLY FOR EQUIPPED EXPERT ESCRURSIONISTS)

Antro del Corchia

A wonder within Mount Corchia, with its 70 km of wells and tunnels explored so far, the Antro del Corchia is one of the most important caves in the entire karst system of the Apuan Alps. Temple of speleological explorations in the 70s, today the Cave is still being explored and always offers new surprises. The cave can only be visited in the company of expert speleologists but, if we want to become speleologists for a day, there is the possibility of visiting it thanks to the tourist-equipped route managed by the Cooperative, suitable for everyone. 

These are just some examples of the excursions possible in the area, in reality there are hundreds of paths, free climbing routes, caves, ghost towns and mountain pastures. The proximity of the Buon Ritiro is an excellent support and favors the possibility of carrying out excursions, walks and many other activities.
