The Buon Ritiro was originally a barn. The structure is already mentioned in the Leopoldo land registry. Purchased in 2021 by Anna Maria and Paolo, it has been completely renovated internally maintaining the original rustic style without giving up all the comforts. The interiors in wood and Apuan stone give the structure its bewitching character.
Entering inside the structure you enter the kitchen, furnished with furniture dating back to the 1700s, which immediately brings you back to an atmosphere of times gone by. The large fireplace that once heated the whole house is still functional. Ideal for relaxing in front of the fire while reading a good book. Food was cooked on the charcoal stove under the front window.
As in any old house, an economical kitchen absolutely cannot be missing. It was the only way to heat water that was used in the past. The heating power of wood and its scent make dishes cooked on the stove tastier than traditional cuisine. An experience that you can try at Buon Ritiro.
The master bedroom, on the upper floor, was once the place where hay was stored. Topped by a majestic chestnut beam and with wooden floors, it was also the place where the shepherd spent his nights. Initially heated by the fireplace hood, today it is equipped with all comforts, including Wi-Fi internet, Smart TV system, double bed and air heating. The ancient door once used for hay storage today overlooks the front of the barn with a lovely balcony.
Access to the upper floor, via a historic chestnut staircase, is obtained directly on the floor through a trap door. The floor is made entirely of wooden planks and rests on century-old chestnut beams. The silence and the atmosphere of the past reconcile rest.
From the master bedroom you enter the attic, furnished with an antique cobbler's table and equipped with a single bed which becomes a double bed if necessary. From the attic it is possible to admire the panorama of the Pania della Croce, Sullioni and Pizzichino, the peak of Monte Alto, which overlooks the town of Retignano.
The attic, with its view towards the Pania della Croce, is particularly suitable for young couples or children, thanks to its proximity to the master bedroom.
The tavern is one of the key points of the house. It is perfect both as a convivial room and as a double bedroom, as it is equipped with a three-seater sofa with a peninsula that becomes a double bed. Connected to the rear exit of the house, it overlooks a small courtyard with a barbecue for having nice barbecues in the summer. In the summer, being in the basement, it is the coolest room in the house while, for lovers of relaxation, it is also equipped with a digital Smart TV system with the possibility of connecting to the various platforms (Netflix, Prime Video, Youtube etc.) thanks to the Wi-Fi internet connection which the structure is equipped with. From the tavern there is direct access to the last bedroom of the house, so-called "the cave"
La "grotta", l' ultima camera della casa, contigua alla taverna, è la più divertente perchè adatta soprattutto ai bambini, che la considerano un angolo di gioco. Corredata anch'essa con un divano letto a due posti che diventa un letto matrimoniale. Si accede direttamente dalla taverna. Fresca d'estate e calda d'inverno, è la cameretta ideale per un riposo in religioso silenzio. La finestra si affaccia verso la regina delle Alpi Apuane, la Pania della Croce che, con i suoi 1858 metri di altitudine vanta il primato di montagna più alta del gruppo delle Panie. E' il caso di dire "riposo all'ombra della Pania".
Relax is the right word for the guests of the Buon Ritiro. Prepare a good dinner with a barbecue or directly in the fireplace and then relax with a good meditation liqueur. Nearby there is the possibility of stocking up on groceries, vegetables, cured meats and cheeses.
Furthermore, in the center of the village of Terrinca there is the recreational club where it is possible to have a good aperitif, an ice cream or a coffee, and, inside, there is also a small shop where you can find groceries.
There's absolutely nothing missing in Terrinca.
Le dotazioni della casa sono: piano ad induzione, frigorifero, forno a microonde, tv, internet 4G e lavatrice. Non c'è il gas e non c'è lavastoviglie. Dotazioni di sicurezza: estintori e segnalatore di CO. Trattandosi di una casa antica è stata mantenuta anche la scala originale in castagno, leggermente ripida.
